Bridal Shower

I helped throw a bridal shower for one of my best friends, Merrium. The theme was “Tea Party” and it was such a fun afternoon. I was in charge of making the cake so I bought this cute little cake topper from Etsy.

I also brought a huge fruit salad made with grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and pineapples. I used to avoid buying pineapples because of how cumbersome it is to cut them, but ever since I bought this pineapple corer. It makes it so easy and quick!

The pineapple corer helps you cut up the pineapple nice and neat.

If you do it right, there’s a little bit of juice left in the shell of the pineapple which I like to drink!

I also used one of the pineapple cavities to serve some fruit that wouldn’t fit in the bowl. It makes for a nice presentation!

And here’s the cake that I made. It’s purple because that is one of Merrium’s colors, although not exactly this shade.

This was actually my first time piping the edges like this so I’m glad that it turned out well!

And since it was a tea party, we had a ton of tea sets and we served three different types of tea: Smores, Caramel Almond Amaretti, and English Breakfast.

Of course, since it was a tea party, we had scones served with jam.

We also had biscuits.

And fruit.

And delicious chicken salad served on endive.

We also had some gluten free cupcakes and cookies.

As people arrived we served with Moscato with raspberries.

One of the bride’s sisters made the party favors which were home made body scrubs!

And here’s a shot of the inside of my cake!
