Iced Green Tea

I’ve made this Iced Green Tea twice over the past month because the temperature was still in the 80s and 90s, however it may be starting to get too cold outside for Iced Tea. Regardless, if it’s still warm in your area, you may be interested in an easy way to make Iced Green tea!

I used some raw honey to sweeten my tea but you can use agave syrup or any sweetener of your choice.


One of the previous times I made Iced Green Tea I used an ice bath method to cool the tea, but it takes a few more dishes. I used a thermometer to make sure the water temperature was hot enough to brew, but not too hot for the delicate green tea.


I used green tea from CostCo but you can use any green tea that comes in a tea bag.


Whichever method you choose to make the tea, the easy way is to use tea bags, with the strings cut off.


And voila, my Iced Green Tea!

I've made Iced Green tea a few different ways but this one is one of the quicker, easier ways.
Recipe type: Beverage
  • 4 cups very hot water, not quite boiling
  • 8 bags green tea
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2-14 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  1. In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat and let the water stop rolling.
  2. Cut the strings off of the tea bags then add them to the water, then cover and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags from water, squeezing gently with tongs.
  4. Pour 2 cups of cold water and honey (or sweetener of choice), and stir until the honey dissolves.
  5. Refrigerate or serve over ice.
